The TBC5-1 Tread Band Cutter, like the TBC10-1, is designed to remove the long curved edges of passenger and light-truck tire treads after the sidewalls have been removed and the tread has been cut (at least once) into a strip. Removing the curved edges allows tread bands to lay flat and be manipulated in ways that were previously impractical. While the TBC10-1 creates tread band that varies based on the available width, the TBC5-1 creates a fixed width tread band at a higher rate of speed with fewer moving parts. The band width is set by installing 1 of 4 interchangeable plates. The standard widths are 2.5", 3.5", 4.5", and 5.5". Specific widths can be fabricated to suit your needs.
Operating the machine is very simple:
- Load the tread into the mouth of the machine.
- Depress the foot switch.
- Guide the tread while it is processed.
